What to say? What to do?
"He was leather-skinned, taunt, and yet energetic. Agewise, a mid 60's Vietnam Vet I met in line at a grocery store who gruffly pointed out to the lady in front of me that this was a "15 or less" items checkout line and that she was way over the limit. She moved. We struck up a conversation of sorts. He'd had a bad day. Someone had broken into his home, where there were three people on disability (him, wife, son), and stolen $400 and all his medications..."
The excerpt above is from the original post here. Was reviewing my previous work on this blog and it touched me to read it again. I'd forgotten that I'd written this, and the overall message, imho, is still timely.
Currently, I'm battling to get this cookbook done, have recently been let down bigtime by someone I really trusted so completely, who was helping test recipes. The situation contributed to the physical/emotional meltdowns I've had in the past week. Not a great time, I'm depleted enough on all levels as it is. Avoiding e-mail for over a week now, just trying to focus on the important work. Running out of time to see this come to completion and every day, every test is critical.
The book's concept, though, is really really cool. And it's implications and potential value to the veg'n community keeps me driving forward. And I want the draft done before I announce it so that no one can beat me to the self-publication of same. Of course it's no added fat, sugar, and salt. But there's also a whole new twist to it all (heh heh heh....).
I'll respond to posted comments when I get the draft done, book announced.
Best to all.... Mark
I'm looking forward to your cookbook!
