I think one of the most exciting things over the past several months has been the reviews my book has received. The three that meant the most to me (not to bely my appreciation for all the others nor the incredible endoresements from such as Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn and Dr. Neal Barnard), is the reviews by Robin Robertson (incredibly prolific vegan cookbook author), Bryanna Clark Grogan (amazing long-term vegan chef, author, and master cook), Dr. Michael Greger (noted lecturer and nutrition expert), and Robert Cohen (the NotMilkMan, who helped me make that last step towards being vegan 11 years ago). Having admired, been inspired, and learned from their work for so many years, it was an incredible honor to have them review my book, and so flattering that they liked it. Here are links to their reviews, and a short excerpt from each.
So cool.
Robin's Review: "...The recipes are super-nutritious, cost-effective, easy to make, and delicious. If you like the idea of making delicious, inexpensive, no-added oil, plant-based pizza, then you’ll love Heart Healthy Pizza — Mark Sutton’s gift to vegan pizza-lovers..."
Bryanna's Review: "...I ask you-- does that pizza look good or what? It WAS good, and that is high praise from me, because I am very picky about pizza. (I like traditional Italian-style pizza-- no pineapple!-- with homemade sauce and crust.) So, let me confess that I was actually a bit surprised at how good it was..."
Dr. Greger's Review: "...Although it might seem arrogant and pretentious to call these the "most nutritious pizzas in the world," one would be hard pressed to think of any others that would be as healthy and beneficial to one's diet. Mark takes full advantage of the abundance of phytochemicals in fresh vegetables and whole grains in these recipes to raise the bar on vegan cooking and demonstrates a unique and creative approach to making one of the most popular foods in the American diet not only a nutritious experience, but a enjoyable and tasty one as well..."
Robert's Review: "...Yes, I admit that masterpiece does not come close to describing Mark Sutton's new book (Heart Healthy Pizza), but I am unable to find a superlative that comes close to describing Mark's magnum opus..."
...and here's on of my favorite photos. A whole wheat crust pizza with kale, 10 other vegetables, and a Quinoa, Sweet Potato, Corn, and Chili Garlic Sauce "cheese-like sauce" from my cookbook. Enjoy! The Special Holiday Discount ends tomorrow at midnight pst, so there still time to order your copy of "Heart Healthy Pizza" for the Holidaze.
